Job Summary

CNC Machine Shop Supervisor

Location: Insert City State
Shift: 2nd
Compensation: 90k 10% bonus great shift differential 4 day work week

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to lead and oversee daily operations within our precision machining department. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving production efficiency maintaining high quality standards and fostering a strong team culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of CNC machinists operators and setup personnel to meet production schedules and quality standards.

  • Provide leadership coaching and technical guidance to ensure efficient and safe operations.

  • Plan and assign work ensure proper setup of CNC machines and verify that tooling and fixtures are available for production runs.

  • Oversee the troubleshooting of machining issues tool changes and program adjustments to ensure minimal downtime.

  • Monitor production processes to maintain product quality and adherence to specifications.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve process tooling or quality issues.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to reinforce safety quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate documentation including production reports attendance and performance records.

  • Promote and enforce safety practices ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

  • Identify training needs and facilitate skills development for team members.

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives within the shop to drive productivity and organization.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.

  • Strong understanding of CNC programming setups tooling and troubleshooting.

  • Experience working with a variety of CNC machines (mills lathes multi-axis preferred).

  • Solid leadership skills with the ability to motivate train and develop team members.

  • Effective communicator with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting blueprints GD&T and shop drawings.

  • Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA regulations in a machine shop environment.
