Machine Operator II (Day Shift Swiss Screw)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates select moderately complex machines and performs varioussecondary activities within assigned area with minimal supervision:

o Cylinder Assembly

o Band Saw

o Presetter

o Bridgeport

o Manual Brake

• Performs routine maintenance including lubrication and cleaning.

• Safely and efficiently routes parts using material handling equipment.

• Inspects personal production to achieve and maintain quality standards and may makerecommendations for improvement.

• Works collaboratively within the team to maintains a neat and organized work station.

• Achieves and maintains productivity standards follows all safety guidelines andmaintains acceptable dependability level.

• Actively engages and participates in department continuous improvement efforts.

• Understands and completes documentation needed to comply with policies andprocedures that are appropriate for the position

• Follows safety guidelines must not pose a risk to self or others identifies potentialsafety hazards and initiates corrective action when necessary.

• Actively participates in all department quarterly and company meetings.

• Other duties as assigned (refer to the job family and skills matrix).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Generally requires a minimum of 1-2 year machine operation experience and knowledge of simple tomoderate fabrication tasks within area assigned problem solving set-up operation andtroubleshooting.

• Must be able to read write and communicate in English with demonstrated ability to follow writtenand oral instructions and troubleshoot problems when necessary. Actively participate in a pass downcommunication to other shift peers and leadership.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively inspect assigned work using precision measuring equipment;micrometers bore gages manual or video comparators CMM or special equipment as requiredallowing for mobility within the department.

• Demonstrates the ability to manage time and resources effectively.

• Demonstrates behaviors and attitudes that emphasize and focus on permanent resolutions toproblems and collaboratively work with other employees within work group to achieve goals.

• Ability to interpret job-related blueprints and work instructions including a cursory knowledge ofGD&T.

• Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Knowledge of ISO procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic shop math calculations with an understanding of

• decimal/fraction equivalence.

• Demonstrated knowledge of most tooling and material types used during production.

• Demonstrated manual dexterity required.

• Basic computer skills.

• Must be able to fulfill the minimum requirements of a Machine Operator I

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift carry push pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk stand sit bend reach and occasionally kneel climb steps and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals noise vibration and /or dust and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as but not limited to safety glasses hearing protection foot protection etc.

Ability to wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHAs respirator use requirements.
