Machine Learning Engineer, Sponsored Products and Brands Relevance

The Sponsored Products and Brands (SPB) team at Amazon Ads is re-imagining the advertising landscape through generative AI revolutionizing how millions of customers discover products and engage with brands across Amazon and beyond. We bridge human creativity with artificial intelligence to transform every aspect of the advertising lifecyclefrom ad creation and optimization to performance analysis and customer insights.

Within SPB the Search Relevance teams mission is to help shoppers easily find and discover the most useful and relevant sponsored products while improving advertisers ability to reach the right shoppers in the right context. We develop capabilities to understand shoppers queries shopping missions and product attributes to identify ASINs that are contextually relevant to each shopper.

As a Machine Learning Engineer on this team you will collaborate with scientists and product managers to work backwards from customers identify problems and propose innovative solutions. You will mentor junior engineers raise the bar for engineering excellence and have a positive impact on hundreds of millions of customers. Key job responsibilities
- Design and build scalable services to support advertising infrastructure.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to design and build data pipelines for processing massive datasets and scaling ML and LLMs.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to ensure solutions deliver measurable improvements in customer perceived relevance.
- Quickly learn technologies and algorithms in the field of Generative AI.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 3 years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design data structures algorithm design problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience in machine learning data mining information retrieval statistics or natural language processing

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience developing deploying and managing AI products at scale

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
