MA Coughlin Orthopedic Hand Clinic Full-Time Days

The Coughlin Orthopedics Clinic is now hiring for a personable and efficient Medical Assistant to support our new Orthopedic Hand services at our clinic located on our Regional Medical Center campus in Boise!

• This MA position will support one Locums and one PRN Orthopedic Hand Surgeons for a new Orthopedic Hand practice located at the Coughlin Orthopedics clinic.
• At Saint Alphonsus our experienced orthopedic surgeons work to provide effective high-quality care so you can heal and get back to your normal activities.
• Common conditions treated at Hand services clinic include: carpel tunnel syndrome broken bones (fractures) strains and sprains cuts and injuries sports-related injuries work-related injuries disease deformities and other conditions.

• You will room patients provide clinical documentation support procedure preparation and patient education and assist with coordination of care.
• Assist with procedures drawing up injections and wound care.
• Also assist with casting splinting suture removal and applying dressings.
• Complete surgery scheduling prior authorizations and referrals.
• The clinic has a collaborative environment encouraging team members to feel comfortable sharing ideas feedback and concerns.
• The clinic supports open communication and transparency and all the clinical staff work to support each other to care for all of their patients.
• They also work hard to have an inclusive team enjoy potlucks and getting together outside of work for team building when possible.
• An idea candidate for this position is outgoing energetic and likes to work in a busy fast-paced clinic environment.
• You also have strong organizational skills are eager to learn and likes to work in a supportive and strong team-oriented environment!

• 40 hours/week Mondays Fridays typically around the hours of 7:45am 4:30pm half-days on Fridays.
• Shift start and end time may vary based on providers schedule and clinic needs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
• *MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
  • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
• New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
• Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
• *EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.
