Position Summary
Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dependable and caring Lunchroom Aide to support student supervision during lunch and recess periods at the elementary level. This role is essential in maintaining a safe welcoming and structured environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria serving lines and at recess (indoor and outdoor).

• Assist younger students with opening food and milk containers.

• Encourage positive play and recommend activities to promote an orderly recess environment.

• Provide lunchroom cleanup between lunch periods including sanitizing and wiping tables.

• Ensure safe use of play equipment and report repair needs to the building principal.

• Reinforce expected behavioral guidelines during lunch and recess.

• Report all student accidents or incidents promptly to the building principal.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work positively with children and staff.

• Strong supervision skills for large groups of students.

• Dependable punctual and committed to student safety.

Physical Working Conditions

• Frequent standing walking bending and stooping.

• Lifting reaching and twisting to clean cafeteria tables.

• Work performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
