Position Lunch Monitor

Position Summary:

Supervise students in the lunchroom to ensure a safe orderly and clean lunch period.

Days/Hours:
Work days align with the DCS Student Calendar.

Hours: 10:30AM 1:15PM (approximate times/schedule based on building assignment)

Compensation:

  • $14.18 per hour
  • Pension plan through Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System (MPSERS)
  • Retirement Savings Plans 403B and 457 Retirement Plans

This position does not qualify for medical benefit

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist students in entering and exiting the lunchroom in an orderly fashion
  • Help to create a positive lunchroom environment
  • Be aware of students with food allergies and monitor when necessary
  • Wipe off tables and sweep floors during and between lunches
  • Work collaboratively with Food & Nutrition staff in regards to serving procedures
  • Assists in other areas as directed by building principal
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to assignment required
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with parents students and staff
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to be self-directed and ability to identify and solve problems
  • Good attendance is important for this position and is expected
