Job Summary
is currently seeking a full-time direct-hire LTL Dispatcher for one of our partners a busy Chicago-area logistics and freight-handling operation that keeps air and ground freight moving around the this position you will run the evening dispatch desk coordinating drivers and shipments so freight stays on schedule from pickup through final delivery. It is a fast high-volume role for someone who likes owning the board and keeping every load accounted for.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch drivers based on customer demand and daily operational needs.
- Track and trace shipments from pickup through final delivery and keep milestone and status updates current in company systems.
- Communicate constantly with drivers warehouse personnel customers carriers and airlines by phone and email.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments and monitor driver locations trip status and available hours.
- Complete and process the documentation required for freight and airline operations with accurate data entry and dispatch records.
- Resolve service issues and communicate delays or exceptions quickly to keep freight on time.
- Minimum one year of experience in LTL local regional or long-haul dispatch.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organization multitasking and problem-solving with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team and available for a 2nd-shift schedule that includes at least one weekend day.
- Experience in air freight freight forwarding or cargo handling.
- Experience coordinating truck moves against airline or terminal schedules.
- Comfort learning and working in a proprietary in-house dispatch platform.
- Competitive hourly pay in the $27 to $31 per hour range with overtime available.
- Full-time W2 direct-hire role with a long-established always-on operation.

Required Skills:
Minimum one year of experience in LTL local regional or long-haul dispatch. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook. Strong communication and customer service skills.
