Are you passionate about turning innovative concepts into reality Do you thrive in dynamic environments Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Radar Diagnostics and Calibration Lead to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline supporting the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Program.

This is an opportunity to serve as the system-level technical lead responsible for defining radar software behavior and ensuring correct interaction between hardware subsystems diagnostics and released software builds. This lead will be responsible for the strategic vision of Maintenance Engineering to ensure a Fault Detection and Fault Isolation (FDFI) foundation leading to CBM and prognostics fielded to the end user.

You will translate operational needs failure modes and maintainability requirements into clear guidance for systems/software implementation and act as the primary integration authority between software systems integration/test and Deployment Fielding and Sustainment teams. Collaboration across the Systems Engineering (SE) Systems Integration and Test (SIT) and Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) CPTs will be required.

This position can be based in Tewksbury MA or Pelham NH

What you will do:

  • Lead a team of SW / Systems engineers to meet strategic direction stated above

  • Lead FDFI and diagnostic maturity updates related to fault detection isolation and reporting logic

  • Coordinate thread memo generation review and approval for future system FDFI capabilities

  • Translate system/operational needs into clear direction for team to:

    • Define clear testable software requirements

    • Author SysCRs defining new functionality corrections and diagnostic behavior

    • Analyze hardwaresoftware interactions across LRUs M3 gateway and diagnostic infrastructure

    • Identify cross-subsystem impacts and integration risks before implementation

    • Define M3 software behaviors supporting soldier-replaceable LRUs and field maintenance workflows

    • Document specific fault injection methods (through SW or HW) to support Stakeholder review of critical fault evaluation

    • Support build planning prioritization and release readiness

    • Troubleshoot system-level issues during integration and field events

  • Participate in technical reviews to ensure accurate SW/HW integration and SysCR implementation.

  • Maintain document and communicate deep radar system knowledge to reduce tribal dependency

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in related Systems Engineering or Multi-Disciplined Engineering

  • Experience effectively leading multidisciplinary teams of systems engineering professionals

  • Experience with complex embedded or real-time systems

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Self-starter proactive in determining goals andobjectives and pursuing the necessary course ofaction

  • Experience understanding full-system behavior not component-level impacts

  • Experience of reasoning through second/third-order effects of software changes

  • Experience in understanding of end user capability / expectations / training Understand LRU logic and fault isolation techniques

  • Experience in preparing customer and/ormanagement level briefings

  • Experience defining clear testable requirements or change requests Experience with RPL architecture troubleshooting and debugging Familiar with configuration control and release processes

  • Experience is understanding of B2 and B5 requirements

  • Experience in schedule development action itemmanagement requirement change managementand overall development and progress metrics

  • Experience working with external customers; including USG or FMS partners

  • EVMS Certified (or equivalent)

  • Experience in navigating the organization and working with stakeholders across the company to develop solutions to key program challenges

  • Experience in technical leadership and guidance of multi-disciplined teams in the design and development of system requirements and design.

The salary range for this role is 132400 USD - 251600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
