Job Summary

Title: LPN Medical Surgical

Location: Rochester New York

Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)

Schedule: Night Shift 3x12-Hour Shifts
Shift Timing: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking an experienced LPN Medical Surgical to provide patient-centered care in an acute care Med/Surg setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of an RN while managing assigned patients administering medications monitoring patient conditions and supporting the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical environment

  • Perform vital signs pain assessments and intake/output monitoring

  • Administer medications including oral IM SQ NG/G-tube ear and eye drops

  • Monitor blood glucose levels and assist with IV therapy using infusion pumps

  • Provide oxygen administration via nasal cannula

  • Perform Foley catheter insertion and specimen collection

  • Assist with wound care dressing changes and drain management

  • Monitor telemetry and perform 12-lead EKGs

  • Maintain infection control and isolation precautions

  • Communicate patient status changes to RN and physicians

  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR

  • Float to other appropriate units as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Active New York State LPN License

  • BLS Certification required

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care Medical Surgical experience within the last 2 years

  • Ability to independently manage patient assignments with RN support

  • EPIC EMR experience required

  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience

  • Experience working in acute care hospital settings
