Ensworth School seeks a math teacher to join its high school faculty for an interim position during the months of January and February in 2027. The ideal applicant will have some teaching experience in a high school or middle school classroom and the demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues. This teacher will be teaching 5 sections of geometry (both Honors and Standard) and serve as a co-advisor to a group of high school students. Strong pedagogical content knowledge and proficiency with educational technology will be helpful as is a growth mindset. Willingness to work on a teaching team to collaborate with other geometry teachers is essential. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Adheres to the Essential Expectations of an Ensworth Faculty Staff or Administrator
Teaches 5 sections of high school math.
Works to promote and instill Ensworths core skills into each student
Works collaboratively with colleagues to develop curricula and plan assessments Supports a diverse group of learners from a variety of backgrounds
Employs educational technology that augments and enhances the learning experience Other duties as assigned by the Head of High School
Qualifications/Experience/Personal Attributes:
Bachelors or advanced degree in mathematics or a related field
Strong interpersonal communication skills
A desire to be a constructive team member
A willingness to accept constructive feedback
A desire to grow and learn through on-the-job experiences
Must successfully complete background screening and verification
Continued Education Programs (as required by Grade Level and/or position) Periodically participate in different training sessions identified by you the employee and/or Divisional Leadership/Supervisor with the goal of keeping our teachers and staff up to date with current teaching methods practices and any new knowledge in their respective field. Dependent on the program such training may need to take place outside of normal working hours and/or in the summer months.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Regularly works in standard classroom conditions and climate
Occasionally works outdoors in varying weather conditions and climate
Regularly uses close and distance vision
Works at a desk for extended periods of time
Observes students from various distances
Ability to occasionally move items weighing up to 30 lbs.
Ensworth requires employees to be physically present on campus with limited exceptions that are at the sole discretion of the School. Under extraordinary circumstances some or all of the workforce may be required to move to a remote working environment. Additionally certain individuals may also be approved for limited remote work based on the nature of the job description specific circumstances and only with written prior approval by a direct supervisor.
