Job Summary

Coastal Precast Systems is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Logistics Yard Manager to oversee daily operations at our precast concrete facility in Chesapeake. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing yard logistics coordinating the movement of precast concrete products supervising loading and unloading activities and ensuring efficient workflow while maintaining compliance with all company policies and local state and federal safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Yard Operations Management:Assist in directing all staging loading unloading and material flow across the plant.
  • Crane Oversight:Support and supervise mobile and overhead crane activities ensuring proper rigging lift planning and safe execution of all heavy picks.
  • Logistics Coordination:Help schedule crane and truck loading coordinate shipments and maintain efficient yard layout to support production and delivery timelines.
  • Team Leadership & Performance Management:Lead yard crews riggers equipment operators and support staff while enforcing accountability productivity attendance and performance standards. Responsible for monitoring team performance developing crews and ensuring operational goals are consistently achieved.
  • Safety & Compliance:Uphold OSHA and site-specific safety regulations equipment inspections and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Equipment Management:Oversee cranes forklifts loaders and yard vehicles to ensure proper maintenance and efficient utilization.
  • Production Support:Work closely with plant QC shipping and operations teams to maintain smooth workflow and meet customer deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in logistics yard management or heavy industrial operations
  • Strong background in crane operations rigging and lift planning
  • Ability to work in fast-paced high-risk environments with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience supervising crews and coordinating across multiple departments
  • Experience managing employee performance and driving team productivity
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations heavy equipment safety and precast or construction operations preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • drug test is required
