Allogene Therapeutics with headquarters in South San Francisco is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T cell (AlloCAR T) products for cancer and autoimmune disease. Led by a management team with significant experience in cell therapy Allogene is developing a pipeline of off-the-shelf CAR T cell product candidates with the goal of delivering readily available cell therapy on-demand more reliably and at greater scale to more patients.
About the role:
Allogene Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator in the Supply Chain Logistics group to support global transportation logistics and distribution operations across the supply chain network. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments scheduling transportation activities monitoring shipment execution and ensuring the timely compliant and cost-effective movement of critical materials including raw materials investigational products clinical samples and other supply chain assets.
The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners depots couriers contract manufacturers laboratories and clinical sites to support operational and clinical programs. The position will also assist with logistics service provider management performance monitoring issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high levels of service quality compliance and customer satisfaction.
The position will be located at either South San Francisco CA Newark CA (and may be remote up to 2 days per week) or fully remote dependent upon your location. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments of raw materials components investigational products (IP) clinical trial supplies biological samples and laboratory materials.
- Schedule transportation activities with approved logistics service providers while ensuring compliance with project timelines and operational requirements.
- Monitor shipment status from pickup through final delivery and proactively communicate any delays risks or exceptions to relevant stakeholders.
- Support import and export activities by coordinating required shipping documents customs documentation permits and declarations.
- Support after-hours or weekend shipment activities when business operations require.
- Investigate transportation-related incidents including delayed damaged lost misrouted or temperature-excursion shipments.
Position Requirements & Experience:
- 25 years of relevant experience in logistics transportation supply chain distribution or related operations preferably with an associate or bachelors degree.
- Experience managing temperature-sensitive biologic cellular therapy or gene therapy shipments.
- Knowledge of GxP GDP IATA DOT and other applicable transportation regulations.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
- Familiarity with shipping regulations customs documentation and international trade.
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines
- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication are essential in this collaborative work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) shipment tracking tools and logistics performance reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced biotech environment while dealing with ambiguity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
