Locum Pediatrics Surgery MDDO

We are seeking an experienced Board Certified pediatric surgeon to provide surgical care for pediatric patients from newborns to teenagers within a community health system in Richmond Virginia. This facility is well-equipped and provides a supportive environment for healthcare providers including office staff to assist with triage and patient management. You will collaborate with a team of pediatric providers to ensure the best possible care for young patients.

• Provide full-time coverage for the pediatric surgery clinic Monday to Friday (8a-5p).
• Manage night call coverage during the week (8p-8a) and 24-hour call on weekends (Saturday-Sunday).
• Conduct rounding for admitted patients and provide weekend surgical consults as needed.
• Address an estimated 0-2 emergency consult calls from the Emergency Department per day.
• Perform approximately 8-10 emergent surgeries per year at the hospital.
• Maintain response times: 15-minute max call back for emergency consults; 30-minute max response time.
• Care for 0-4 patients per day ensuring personalized and attentive service.

• Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery - REQUIRED
• Valid Virginia State License - REQUIRED
• COVID Vaccination - REQUIRED
• COI coverage of $2.6M/$7.8M (VA statute limitations) - Required if requested by the facility
