**Job Opportunity: Locum Orthopedic Surgeon**
**Position Type:** Full-Time approximately 6-month engagement
**Schedule:** 8-hour shifts Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (Lunch 12:00 PM 1:00 PM)
**Call Requirements:** Shared call rotation
**Location:** Primary site in Lancaster NH with 1-2 days per month in Colebrook NH
**EMR System:** Meditech Expanse
**Facility Type:** Critical Access Hospital
**Position Overview:** We are seeking an experienced Locum Orthopedic Surgeon to provide comprehensive orthopedic care within a supportive rural healthcare framework that boasts a well-established referral network and a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach.
The ideal candidate should be adept at managing a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions specifically those prevalent in an aging demographic.
**Clinical Focus:** The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the evaluation and treatment of:
- **Joint Replacement Surgery:** Proficiency in hip knee and shoulder replacements is essential.
- **Hand Conditions:** Experience with common conditions such as trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome is preferred but not mandatory.
- **Spine and Back Pain Management:** Comfort in managing and consulting on these conditions is highly desirable.
**Workload Overview:** The role encompasses a balanced combination of surgical clinic and on-call duties:
- **Operating Room:** Scheduled procedures on Monday Wednesday and Thursday.
- **Outpatient Clinic:** Patient consultations on Tuesday and Friday.
- **Call Coverage:** Approximately 10 days of call per month.
**Essential Qualifications:** - Graduation from an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.
- Ability to promptly secure a New Hampshire medical license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
