As a Locum NP/PA in Critical Care you will play a vital role in assessing diagnosing and managing patients in intensive care settings. Your expertise will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes and the continued success of our practice. Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessment and management of critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Order interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to guide clinical decisions.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and their families on conditions and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with medical protocols safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient status and emergencies.
Requirements
  • Associate-level experience in critical care intensive care or acute care settings.
  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
  • Board certification as an NP (e.g. ACNP AGACNP) or PA-C; critical care experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment diagnostic and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in performing critical care procedures (e.g. central line insertion ventilator management) within scope of practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with patients families and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced high-acuity environment.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts including nights weekends and holidays as needed for contract coverage.
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying current with evidence-based practices.
  • Ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions during emergencies.

Schedule: 12-hour day or night shifts specific dates

No call required

Setting: 30-bed mixed ICU

Daily Patient Volume: 26-28 patients

Required Procedures: Central lines arterial lines and intubation

Support Staff: Intensivist from 7a-7p

Must be board-certified

ACLS and DEA required
