Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician's Assistant) Cardiothoracic Surgery

As a Locum NP or PA you will play a crucial role in patient care working alongside a skilled surgical team to deliver high-quality services. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes and overall department efficiency. • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients before and after surgical procedures
• Assist in the operating room and provide support during cardiothoracic surgeries
• Monitor patient recovery and manage post-operative care
• Collaborate with surgeons and other medical professionals to optimize patient treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
• Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and recovery processes
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Stay up to date with advances in cardiothoracic surgical practices and protocols

• Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-hour day shifts

Call Requirment: 5p-7a weeknights and weekends

Daily Volumes: 5- 10 patients 0-3 admissions 2-7 ICU 1-2 surgeries

Patient Population: Adults

Required Procedures: General CV/thoracic surgery coronary artery bypass surgery valvular repairs and replacements

Support Staff: RN navigators MAs physicians & midlevels

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
