Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) Family Medicine
Job Summary
This contract on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level provider to deliver essential primary care services to a welcoming community. As a key member of the family medicine team you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of care and ensuring positive patient outcomes in a collaborative clinical environment.
In this role you will provide comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan focusing on preventive care chronic disease management and acute episodic visits. You will work alongside a supportive team of physicians and clinical staff to uphold the highest standards of patient care within the medical practice industry. This position is ideal for a Nurse Practitioner who thrives in a hands-on patient-centered setting and is committed to serving the Raton community with professionalism and empathy.
- Provide comprehensive primary and family medicine care to patients of all ages.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including history taking and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory work and imaging.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide preventive care including immunizations screenings and health counseling.
- Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes hypertension and asthma.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings as required.
- Active Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Associate-level experience in family medicine or primary care settings.
- Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong clinical assessment diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient-centered care.
- Current BLS or ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Raton and adapt to a contract-based schedule.
- Experience with chronic disease management and preventive care.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in patient documentation.
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-4:30p)
No call requirement
Daily Volume: 10 patients
Duties: Examine patients prescribe medication diagnose illnesses provide treatment and evaluate diagnostic tests
EMR: CPRS
Any state license accepted
Must be board-certified
Additional Certifications: ACLS BLS and DEA
