Description

This contract on-site position is an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to deliver high-quality diagnostic services within a reputable medical practice.

As a Locum Pathologist you will examine tissues fluids and specimens to diagnose diseases and support critical patient care decisions. Working closely with laboratory staff and clinical teams you will ensure accurate and timely diagnostic results that directly impact patient outcomes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Perform gross and microscopic examination of surgical specimens and laboratory samples
  • Diagnose diseases and conditions through comprehensive histopathological and laboratory analysis
  • Interpret laboratory results and provide clinically relevant correlation to guide patient management
  • Prepare and review pathology reports with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to provide expert diagnostic guidance
  • Ensure strict compliance with laboratory safety quality control and regulatory standards
  • Participate in tumor boards case reviews and interdisciplinary consultations
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records and diagnostic documentation
  • Supervise and mentor laboratory technologists and support staff as needed
  • Stay current with advancements in pathology diagnostic techniques and best practices
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical institution
  • Board certification or active eligibility in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Associate-level experience in pathology practice including grossing and microscopic interpretation
  • Strong diagnostic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with clinical teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases efficiently
  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems and electronic health records
  • Dedication to continuous learning and professional development in pathology

Schedule: 8-hour shifts specific dates

No call requirement

Case Types: General pathology surgical pathology and frozen sections

Support Staff: Pathologists assistant and administrative staff

EMR: Meditech and Epic Gold

Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Additional Certifications: DEA
