Job Summary

As a Local Tractor Trailer Driver you will operate a tractor-trailer truck on assigned local routes to service our customers in a safe efficient and professional manner. You will deliver collected solid waste or recyclables to designated landfills MRFs or transfer stations ensuring our communities stay clean and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive & Operate: Safely operate tractor-trailer trucks and on-board hydraulic systems on specified local collection routes.
  • Load & Secure: Ensure each load is secure (tarps closed properly no loose trash visible) and completely empty the trailer when dumping a load.

    Communicate: Provide customer service/dispatch with trailer numbers and net weights after dumping. Report vehicle mechanical issues to the maintenance team immediately.

    Safety First: Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections truck reports and route sheets. Adhere to all federal state and company safety standards and vehicle operations regulations.

    Professionalism: Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with the public and customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • License: Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of commercial driving experience.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED desired.

  • Skills: * Knowledge of tractor-trailer components air brakes and basic maintenance requirements.

    • Ability to safely maneuver and back a truck into tight clearance spaces (using mirrors for distances of 120 feet).

    • Ability to handle vehicles carrying up to 80000 lbs (40 tons).

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift push pull or carry up to 50 pounds repetitively; agility to sit (approx. 75% of the time driving) stand climb and balance in outdoor weather conditions.
