Loadout Supervisor
Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the packaging process and shipping of the final product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and manage Packaging and Loadout personnel by participating in the interview and hiring process inspecting plant processes to ensure optimum performance providing timely performance feedback and conducting employee performance evaluations
- Responsible for managing the departments compliance with the organizations safety programs including assisting with safety training for Packaging and Loadout employees and observing and enforcing safety and company rules
- Follow and enforce the Quality Assurance program and assist with plant audits and inspections
- Collaborate with the Mechanical/electrical Maintenance department to manage repairs and shutdowns of packaging and loadout equipment
- Assist Operators and other staff with troubleshooting packaging and loading equipment matters
- Responsible for generating weekly production reports
- Direct and manage department schedules and overtime to meet production sales and budget targets
- Consult with the Operations Manager to prepare the capital budget
- Collaborate cross-functionally with safety engineering maintenance and lab personnel to meet safety production and quality assurance requirements
- Ensure department Operators are effectively performing required inspections equipment
- Oversee the daily operations of manufacturing and transportation processes to ensure compliance with product safety and quality standards certifications and regulations for Ag Feed and Pet Food
- Set and implement standards procedures and processes for the manufacture of high quality and safe feed products as well as maintain a role on the Product Safety Committee
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least five years of operations and supervisory experience within an industrial processing plant environment
- Valid drivers license
- Forklift Certification
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Demonstrated success in troubleshooting plant process equipment
- Previous Safe Food Safe Feed experience
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel Word Outlook etc.)
- Must exhibit integrity reliability and initiative with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Basic knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Rail and bulk loading knowledge
- Expert level of knowledge of screening methods and screen/mesh sizes
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed indoors in an office environment and outdoors in a plant environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work that requires typing reading communicating sitting for prolonged periods of time standing and walking and at times may be exposed to loud noises.
The employee:
- Is regularly required to use hands to type touch handle or feel
- Is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms
- Is frequently required to walk climb balance bend kneel shovel and sweep
- May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
