Help Students Find Their Start in the Game
The LMS 6th Grade Volleyball Club Advisor helps introduce students to volleyball in a setting that is welcoming organized and focused on learning. The advisor provides instruction supervision and encouragement while helping students develop foundational skills confidence teamwork and good sportsmanship.
This is an opportunity to create a positive first experience in school athletics for students who may be learning the game for the first time. The successful candidate will be a steady supportive presence who helps students participate safely and feel connected to their school and teammates.
Terms of Employment and Salary
As outlined by and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) of Nine Mile Falls Education Association (NMEA) and the Policies and Procedures of Nine Mile Falls School District. Stipend: $1117 for the school year paid in accordance with the NMEA Collective Bargaining Agreement Appendix B Supplemental Salary Schedule.
Work Location: Lakeside Middle School
Nature and Scope of Position:
The Lakeside Middle School 6th Grade Volleyball Club Advisor plans organizes supervises and supports the 6th grade volleyball club. The position provides age-appropriate instruction in volleyball fundamentals; maintains a safe positive and inclusive environment; and carries out club activities in accordance with district school athletic department and applicable league or WIAA requirements.

- Plan organize and supervise 6th Grade Volleyball Club activities.
- Establish a safe welcoming and inclusive environment for participating students.
- Provide age-appropriate introductory instruction and activities related to volleyball fundamentals teamwork communication and sportsmanship.
- Develop and communicate club schedules activity expectations and participation information in coordination with school administration and the Athletic Director.
- Supervise students during all assigned club practices activities events and transitions.
- Maintain clear expectations for student conduct participation respect and safety.
- Promote positive relationships teamwork inclusion accountability and good sportsmanship.
- Follow district and school procedures for student safety injuries emergency response and reporting concerns.
- Communicate professionally with students families staff administration and the Athletic Director regarding club needs schedules and student concerns.
- Coordinate facility use equipment set-up clean-up and required records related to club activities.
- Follow applicable district school athletic department and student-activity rules and procedures.
- Complete required district training and maintain any certifications required for the assignment.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Principal or Athletic Director.
- Current certificated staff member of Lakeside Middle School.
- Ability to supervise and work effectively with middle school students.
- Ability to provide a safe respectful and inclusive student activity.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students families staff and administration.
- Commitment to positive student relationships equitable treatment of students and good sportsmanship.
- Ability to complete district-required training including applicable Vector training.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain it before club activities begin if required by the District for this assignment.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students.
- Experience organizing student activities clubs or athletic programs.
- Knowledge of introductory volleyball fundamentals appropriate for 6th-grade students.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and support students while maintaining clear expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with families school staff and administration.
