Location

St. Petersburg FL preferred for in-person candidates; remote opportunities are available throughout Florida for particularly strong candidates with an active Florida Bar license.

Note:

This position requires 2 years of directly relevant civil litigation experience with a strong preference for general liability defense third-party liability matters and/or construction defect litigation. An active Florida Bar license is required.

Job Description

• Manage a caseload of general liability defense and construction defect litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Develop and execute effective litigation strategies tailored to the facts and needs of each case.
• Conduct and defend depositions hearings mediations and other litigation proceedings.
• Draft pleadings motions discovery responses correspondence and other legal documents.
• Analyze claims defenses liability issues damages and case exposure.
• Communicate effectively with clients insurance carriers opposing counsel experts and other stakeholders.
• Take a proactive approach to case management deadlines discovery negotiations and litigation strategy.
• Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial-related activities as appropriate.
• Exercise sound legal judgment while maintaining high standards of client service and advocacy.

Qualifications

• 2 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience with general liability defense and third-party matters strongly preferred.
• Construction defect litigation experience is highly valued.
• Active Florida Bar license in good standing.
• Strong legal research writing analytical negotiation and oral advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage litigation matters independently and proactively.
• Strong attention to detail organization professionalism and client-service skills.
• Early to mid-career attorneys are strongly encouraged to apply; candidates with approximately 2 to 15 years of experience are generally targeted.
• In-house and solo-practice backgrounds are generally less preferred.
• A demonstrated history of meaningful tenure and progression with prior firms is preferred.

  • 2 to 4 years: $135000 to $150000
  • 5 to 7 years: $150000 to $165000
  • 8 to 11 years: $165000 to $180000
  • 12 to 15 years: $180000 to $200000
