    Job Title: Literacy Interventionist

    Location: District Department:

    Reports To: Building Administrator

    Nature and Scope of Job:

    The purpose of an literacy interventionist is to provide literacy intervention based on strategies embedded with the science of reading philosophies. The literacy interventionist will teach students reading strategies to enable student success access curriculum and meet proficiency with all content areas aligned with standards.

    Job Functions:

    Essential Functions:

    1. Supports Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students to access a language proficiency program of study that meets individual needs and abilities within the Sweetwater County School District Number One curriculum.

    2. Conducts assessments / screenings and uses results to inform instruction.

    3. Implements curriculum objectives and goals using effective teaching techniques.

    4. Works with students to develop a cognitive and social language base.

    5. Assesses instructs and evaluates specific students needs and seeks assistance of classroom teachers or other specialists as needed.

    6. Plans and implements a program of literacy instruction based on the science of reading that meets individual student needs interests and abilities.

    7. Uses effective teaching techniques and materials to implement curriculum objectives and goals.

    8. Writes daily lesson plans describing learning experiences correlated to curriculum objectives.

    9. Determines program eligibility through assessment of specific student needs.

    10. Monitors and assesses student progress and provides feedback on a regular basis to teachers students and parents/guardians.

    11. Communicates aims/objectives to students in a well-planned organized manner in clear concise terms.

    12. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity of the students.

    13. Assists administration in implementing all policies regulations and rules of Sweetwater County School District Number One.

    14. Promotes and follows adopted Sweetwater County School District Number One philosophy policies and administrative procedures.

    15. Communicates concerns and ideas with colleagues parents students and community in a positive manner.

    16. Assumes legal responsibilities for supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities.

    17. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.

    18. Assumes individual responsibilities assigned by the principal/supervisor which may relate to committee work student activities student supervision or other planning of any professional assignments.

    19. Maintains accurate complete legible and correct records as required by Sweetwater County School District Number One policy and administrative regulation.

    20. Takes necessary precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.

    21. Conducts oneself in a business-like and task-oriented manner.

    Other Functions:

    1. Attends building staff meetings.

    2. Remains informed of new techniques and current research.

    3. Completes data information and reports in a timely manner.

    4. Discusses student progress at parent conferences and requested meetings.

    Job Qualifications:

    Knowledge Skills and Mental Ability:

    Must possess broad knowledge of pedagogy and learning theory with expertise in area(s) of certification.

    Must possess knowledge of group dynamics and interpersonal skills.

    Must possess knowledge of psychological emotional educational and behavioral development of children.

    Must possess classroom management skills which include discipline as well as record keeping and assessment ability.

    Must possess technological and computer skills.

    Must possess problem solving flexibility imagination patience reasoning creativity judgment and analytical abilities.

    Education License Certification or Formal Training:

    Proper certification issued by the Wyoming Department of Education.

    A minimum of a Bachelors Degree awarded from an accredited college or university.

    Continue to pursue graduate level classes for professional growth.

    Equipment Used

    Learning Management Systems (LMS) Usage ï½ Ability to navigate and utilize digital learning platforms.

    Classroom Technology Integration ï½ Knowledge of interactive whiteboards projectors and student devices.

    Online Assessment Tools ï½ Experience creating and managing digital quizzes tests and evaluations. V

    irtual and Hybrid Teaching ï½ Proficiency in video conferencing and remote learning platforms.

    Educational Data Analysis ï½ Ability to interpret student performance data to guide instruction.

    Digital Collaboration Tools ï½ Experience using shared documents discussion boards and communication apps.

    Basic Troubleshooting ï½ Ability to resolve minor technical issues with classroom technology.

    Assistive Technology ï½ Understanding of tools that support diverse learning needs.

    Cybersecurity and Digital Safety ï½ Awareness of online privacy security risks and digital citizenship.

    Content Creation and Multimedia ï½ Ability to develop digital learning materials (videos presentations infographics).

    Physical Demands:

    Strength and stamina to be able to remain in a seated position for up to 90 minutes at a time throughout the work day with a minimum of fatigue or discomfort.

    Visual acuity and stamina to work at a computer for at least part of each day with a minimum of fatigue or discomfort.

    Strength and stamina to be able to remain in a standing position for up to 90 minutes at a time

    throughout the work day with a minimum of fatigue or discomfort.

    Strength to lift objects that weigh at least 50 pounds and move them more than 50 feet.

    Environmental Demands:

    Be able to spend most of the time inside classrooms with some work outside in hot/cold weather.

    Be able to to tolerate noise up to 90 decibels.

    Be able to work after dark.
