Job Summary
Our Mission
Equitas Academy prepares students for college careers and life pursuits and inspires them to be champions of equity.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of targeted literacy intervention for students through small group and 1:1 instruction.
Work with and assist the Literacy Intervention Teacher during the school day with instruction intervention and other duties needed.
Reinforce foundational literacy skills including phonemic awareness phonics fluency vocabulary and comprehension.
Assist in preparing instructional materials organizing resources and setting up intervention groups and classroom structures.
Assist with administering formative assessments and progress monitoring tools as directed.
Support data collection for tools such as DIBELS i-Ready and other school-based assessments as needed.
Supervise students during transitions lunch recess or other assigned times.
Participate in family meetings engagement events workshops or conferences as appropriate.
Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining both school culture and academics.
Maintain high behavioral and academic expectations for students.
Enforce Equitas Academys positive discipline policies.
Follow policies and procedures for health safety and nutrition.
Maintain open lines of communication with staff parents and other stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
AA degree required BA degree preferred
30 Day Emergency Sub Permit preferred
Criminal clearance including fingerprints and TB Test
Previous experience working with and supervising children
Previous experience working with students
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment
Salary:Starting at $22/hour. This is a full-time hourly position with benefits.
Position Contingencies
This position is funded through the California Department of Education (CDE) Literacy Coaches and Reading Specialists (LCRS) Grant Program through June 2029.
