Ability to provide intensivehigh-impact interventions based on advanced progress monitoring data tostudents utilizing a variety of delivery models. Exhibits specializedknowledgeofscientificallybasedreadingresearchevidence-based best practicesEnglish Language Artsstandards and how to work with educators as adult learners. Demonstrate specialized expertise in high-quality reading instructional pedagogy and andragogy. Abilitytoanalyzedataanduseittoinformsupport decisions response plansand interventions for studentsand teachers. Skillful collaborator evidenced by excellent oral and written communication skills interpersonal skillsconflict resolution strategies stress management planning and organizational skills and problem-solvingmethods. REPORTS TO: Director of Elementary Curriculum JOB OBJECTIVE: TheLiteracyCoach (K) will directinstructional services related to literacy forallstudents and providedirect supportto teachers implementing thedistrictsK-12 Comprehensive Research-based Reading Plan at theschool level. TheLiteracyCoachis pivotalinleading teachers andadministrators in advancingteacher practice andstudentperformance inliteracy. The goal is to support teachers in deliveringhigh-quality core instruction with aligned tieredsupportsimprovingstudent performanceoutcomes. SUPERVISES: N/A PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The coach providescollegialjob-embeddedsupport to implementdata-informedandstudent-centered high-qualityliteracyinstruction. Coaches accomplish this by collaborating with leaders and teachers engaging inco-teaching common planning modeling reflective conversations and data sessionsto build teacher andschool capacity to improve achievement. Provide professional learning on the major reading components as needed based onanalyzingstudentperformance data. Administer and analyze instructional assessments and providedifferentiated instruction and intensiveinterventions. Supportschools in developing and implementing their School Improvement Plan school-basedRtIPlan andother schoolwideactionplans. The Literacy Coach will provide targeted students with interventions through various delivery modelsaligned to the science of reading and advanced progress monitoring data. Model effective instructional strategies for teachers in whole andsmall-groupinstruction. Collect and use data on instructional practices to inform and implement professional learning activities. Work with teachers to ensure that evidence-based reading strategies and programs grounded in the scienceof reading are implemented with fidelity. Leadliteracy leadership teams PLCs CPT andprofessional learning sessions based on the needs of theschool site. Continue to grow professionally to increase knowledge of and ability to apply effective pedagogy andandragogy. Prioritize time to teachers activities and roles that willimpactstudent achievement in reading includingcoaching and mentoring teachers daily. Work with school leadership to plan and implement a consistent program of improving reading achievementusing evidence-based strategies that demonstrate a statistically significant effect on improving studentoutcomes. Participates in job-embedded Literacy Coach Endorsement Coursework (completed bythe end of thesecondyear intheposition).
