Job Summary
As the Line Mechanic you will be a vital member at one of our Alaskan processing facilitiesresponsible formaintaining repairing and installation of Iron Butcher processing machinery and other fish processing equipment including but not limited to food grade conveyors processing pumpsgrindersand a variety of seafood processing includes troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues performing routine maintenance tasks and conducting repairs as needed to ensureoptimalequipment performance and minimize downtime.
Position also requires a strong understanding of hydraulics pneumatics and electrical systems as well as experience with various types of processing equipment.
Essential Functions/Qualificationsâ
The responsibilities of the position include the following:â
- Maintain adjust and repair Iron Butcher and similar heading and gutting machines to achieve maximum recovery and quality.â
- Rebuild and maintain pumps motors fans and various equipmentâ
- Build Maintain and Repair hydraulic and pneumatic system components.â
- Build Maintain and repair conveyors.â
- Weld and fabricate aluminum andstainless steel.â
- Work in a safe manner and take action to correct or report safety hazards to the Safety Manager or Chief Engineer.â
- Recognize operator errors and correct their behavior in a constructive manner.â
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all production line equipment including conveyors processing machines packaging equipment and refrigeration units.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical electrical and hydraulic problems.
- Perform welding fabrication and other metalworking tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Work effectively as part of a team to maintain production efficiency.
- May be required to work overtime including weekends and holidays during peak production seasons.
- Other duties are to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but notrequired.
- Experienced in multiple mechanical skills including knowledge of millwright hydraulic pneumatic plumbing building maintenancefabricatingand welding processes.â
- Position requires driven machinery certifications such as a forklift expeditor truck or flatbed truck which in turn requires a valid drivers license.ââ
- Previous experience in Seafood or Manufacturing preferred not required.
Work Environment and Scheduleââ
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee isfrequentlyexposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extremecold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Position requiresonsitepresence at our Alaska Processing Facility and the ability to travel spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.

Physical Demands
This role is regularlyrequiredto standwalk;use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employees arefrequentlyrequired to climb or balance. The employeeis occasionally required tosit; stoop kneel crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 poundsfrequentlylift and/or move up to 25poundsand occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision peripheralvisionand depth perception.
