Travel time from your primary residence to your assigned headquarters must be 35 minutes or less under normal driving conditions.Job Description
Supervise a large crew in construction and maintenance at underground and overhead distribution and transmission systems including substations.
What you will do
- Supervise and direct linemen and apprentices in safe construction an maintenance at electrical power utilities.
- Train and develop apprentices.
- Oversee equipment lineup operation and maintenance necessary for the job.
- Promote teamwork to maximize safety and productivity.
- Oversee paperwork mapping timekeeping safety reports material issues and returns for each job.
- Must report to work fit for duty and free from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse.
- High School Diploma Required
- Other Line School graduate Required
Required Experience
- Training in a Powerline Design and Construction Program.
- 5 years experience in line construction field.
Other Requirements
- This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements under 49 CFR Part 40 and FMCSA regulations (Part 382
- Obtain and maintain Class A CDL and a valid drivers license
- This classification shall have a twenty (20) minute residency requirement.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to exercise good judgment during emergencies
- Capacity for accurate decisions and execution
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of analytical ability high level of interpersonal skills
- Familiar with all company policies and procedures
- Basic knowledge of First Aid and CPR
- Ability to read and comprehend Right To Know information
- Will be required to work irregular hours during storm emergencies and as needed
