Job Summary

Position SummaryThe Light Equipment Operatorposition performs duties in conjunction with the NTMWD Facilities Services be capable ofoperatinga rubber tire backhoe a track backhoe loader and dump under the general supervision of the ResponsibilitiesOperates and monitors performance of the construction type equipment such as loadersbackhoesskid steerswith minimal supervisionin a safe routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipmentoperatedwith minimal for housekeeping in assigned as a Lead Maintenance Worker when safe work practices through proper use of safety equipment and procedures including permit required confined space entry and lock out tag and sewer linesin accordance withapplicable rules and become proficient inthe use of the DistrictComputerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).Maybe required to work nights weekends and holidays when called in arotational On Callshiftstatus to respond to NTMWD repairs outside of normal businesshours andworks overtime as all safety training asrequiredand current on all safety operations for light equipment when on job sites and in the plant or other locations owned by other duties as RequirementsEducation & Experience:Mustpossessa high school diploma or years of experience in operation of construction type a Class C Distribution and or Type II Collections license issued by a valid Texas Commercial Drivers Licenseor must obtain within 6 months of Skills & Abilities:Spatial discrimination;eye hand footcoordination; manual dexterity; ability to follow written and oral instructions;generally goodphysical and Physical Working ConditionsDriving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current valid and vehicle - appropriate driver s license of their resident position requires moderate physical exertion with daily lifting requirements up to 75 pounds. Working conditions include exposure to weather and odor. Subject to shift work. Equipment used includes dozers loaders dump trucks fuel truck backhoes air compressors high-pressure washersminiexcavators mowersand other construction typeequipment.
