Our Life Safety Systems/Fire Alarm Designers work on various projects assigned by aDepartment Manager or Lead Engineer. This position will play a role in the entire designprocess including but not limited to:
- concept creation
- leading BIM designs with support from your leads and SMEs
- drawing and specification production
- customer and vendor accessibility.
Your impact:
- The Life Safety Systems/Fire Alarm Designers may work on several concurrent projectsand will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time.
- As a Life Safety Systems/Fire Alarm Designer youll provide technical design leadershipof systems for data center buildings which include fire alarm and detection systemssmoke control systems fire protection systems and other life safety or low voltagesystems.
- As a Life Safety Systems/Fire Alarm Designer working with our teams youll use yourskills and experience to help our clients by providing code-compliant asset protection andfire mitigation and life safety solutions. These solutions include fire alarm fire detectionfire suppression gas detection life safety considerations smoke modeling and explosionprevention.
- Utilizing Revit MEP our teams create 3D models in coordination with architects andengineers. From those 3D BIM models youll design fire alarm systems fire sprinklersystems smoke and leak detection security and intrusion detection systems and more.
- Using the various applicable Life Safety & Fire codes as well as industry standards you willprovide calculations equipment size and quantities; equipment and constructionspecifications network diagrams and various construction deliverables in both 2D and 3Dplatforms for a constructible design.
Heres what youll need:
- At least 4 years of Autodesk Revit design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Excel and Revit add-ins
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu
- Familiarity with clash detection and how to resolve issues in ACC/Forma
- Knowledge and design experience with Fire Alarm Systems and related
manufacturers equipment including VESDA systems. - Knowledge of general design and construction specifications.
Ideally youll also have:
- Bachelors degree in engineering
- Knowledge of IBC IFC NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm andSignaling Code
- Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements
- Knowledge of NFPA 75 NFPA 76 NFPA 2001 and NFPA 13 codes
- Experience with VESDA ASPIRE or similar software
- Design experience in data centers

1. Hybrid Means working from any office in the country within 50 miles of an office and reporting to the office 2 days a week. Remote is anyone in the US that is hired that does not live within 50 miles of an office.
2. Must Have Life safety / fire alarm design experience using Revit

4. Salary Range depends on location cost of living and level of experience
