NHC HealthCare Oakwood is seeking a compassionate energetic and dependable Activities Assistant to join our team on a part-time every-other-weekend schedule.

The Activities Assistant helps provide meaningful recreational opportunities designed to meet the physical social mental emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and residents while creating an atmosphere of fun engagement and enjoyment.

The ideal candidate is mature self-motivated dependable and has a genuine passion for working with seniors.

Assist and support the Life Enrichment/Recreation Director in identifying each patient or residents individual interests preferences and activity needs.

Assist with planning and providing therapeutic and recreational programs designed to meet individual needs.

Provide activities that support the physical social mental emotional and spiritual well-being of patients and residents.

Participate in individualized one-on-one activities with patients and residents as appropriate.

Encourage participation and help create an engaging positive and enjoyable environment.

Build positive relationships with patients residents families community members and NHC partners.

Assist with maintaining positive community and public relations.

Support the Life Enrichment/Recreation Director with departmental programs events and weekend activities.

Follow NHC standards policies procedures and the Better Way culture.

Maintain a professional respectful and supportive approach when working with patients residents families coworkers and leadership.

High school diploma or GED required.

Ability and desire to work with elderly patients and residents.

Willingness to learn new ideas programs and skills.

Positive attitude and a good sense of humor.

Ability to work effectively with NHC partners families patients residents and members of the community.

Patience strong organizational skills dependability and attention to detail.

Professional appearance and strong communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work an every-other-weekend schedule.
