Job Description
Life Enrichment Assistants play a key role in creating engaging and meaningful experiences for residents within a senior living community. Responsibilities include leading and assisting with a variety of activities such as exercise classes cognitive and brain fitness programs arts and crafts games sports reading groups and social events.
The ideal candidate is energetic compassionate dependable and able to adapt to the changing needs of residents and daily schedules. Candidates should work well in a fast-paced environment demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills and be motivated self-starters who enjoy making a positive impact in the lives of seniors.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning developing organizing implementing and evaluating engaging activity programs for the community.
- Monitor and document resident participation mood behavior and level of engagement to help assess program effectiveness and resident well-being.
- Encourage resident and family involvement in activity planning whenever possible to support meaningful and personalized experiences.
Qualifications
- Flexible dependable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as as part of a team
- Previous experience planning coordinating and hosting activities and events for older adults or within a senior living community preferred.
- Current Food Handlers Permit required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record required
- Ability to regularly lift move and carry up to 50 pounds including tables chairs and activity equipment
