Overview

We are seeking a Licensing Engineer Energy Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge TN office.

Your role

  • Responsible for applying engineering and nuclear regulatory knowledge and experience in support of developing power plant systems and programs in accordance with US licensing requirements.

  • Demonstrated understanding of 10 CFR along with associated regulatory and industry guidance.

  • Part of the ARUSN Licensing group and will work preparing licensing documentation such as topical and technical reports Safety Analysis Reports and applications for certifications permits and licenses.

  • Wworks closely with all engineering disciplines.

  • Supports development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components in an interactive manner with other engineering functional areas.

  • Prepares reviews maintains and defends licensing documentation supporting a variety of nuclear designs.

  • Prepares and defends position papers for areas where the existing regulatory framework does not apply or where there is a need for new or revisedregulatory requirements or guidance.

  • Prepares and delivers licensing presentations to internal and external organizations.

  • Supports project management for activities including development of licensing submissions.

  • Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810 without specific authorization.

  • Applies knowledge and experience industry best practices regulatory guidance codes and standards and good engineering judgment to ensure the design is compliant with International regulatory criteria and industry best practices.

  • Works to assigned schedules ensuring the accuracy completeness and timeliness of work and initiates corrective measures to overcome delays.

  • Receives instruction guidance and direction from more senior licensing engineers and completes duties as assigned.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About you

  • Bachelors degree required in electrical engineering or related technical or engineering field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in nuclear licensing and regulatory affairs.

  • Experience in nuclear industry preferred.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Familiarity with industry standards and licensing guides.

  • Excellent technical writing interpersonal and effective communication skills.

  • Experience in drafting and reviewing licensing applications and submittals.

  • Experience working with designers and engineers to develop a safety analysis report (SAR).

  • Prior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $72000 - $120000 annually depending on skills experience and geographical location.
