Here is What Your day May Consist of:
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician youll play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting our veterinarians clients and fellow team members.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations diagnostics treatments and surgical procedures
- Perform venipuncture catheter placement anesthesia monitoring radiology laboratory procedures and other technical nursing skills within your credentialed scope of practice
- Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Safely handle and restrain dogs cats and exotic pets (experience with exotics is a plus)
- Process laboratory samples and maintain accurate medical records
- Educate clients on medications preventive care prescription diets wellness plans and discharge instructions
- Reinforce veterinarian recommendations and promote exceptional client communication
- Maintain a clean organized and well-stocked treatment area pharmacy exam rooms and patient wards
- Clean sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment
- Collaborate with doctors technicians assistants and client service representatives to provide outstanding patient care
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the hospital and patient care

Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:
- Current Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential or eligibility for licensure
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
- Strong technical nursing and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Compassionate dependable and self-motivated
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Positive collaborative team player
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
