The Surgical team at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a supportive team-oriented culture where nurses collaborate closely to provide exceptional care. The 20- Bed unit features self-scheduling 12-hour shifts and every-other-weekend rotation helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

How youll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

• Under the direction of an RN contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN
• Performs plan of care interventions including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living including personal hygiene elimination nutrition and ambulation.
• Monitors documents and communicates patients status and reactions to interventions with RN physician patient and families.

What were looking for

Applicants should have a current state LPN license. High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina LPN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

• Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
