Job Summary
$5000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR I/DD PROGRAMS IN BROOKLYNPOSITION OVERVIEW:A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for LPN nursing care and medical procedures within the scope of the nursing practice. Assist in the integration of physical and behavioral health in program. The LPN reports to the RN and or Nursing ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:In line with doctors orders administer prescribed and/or routine medical treatments. Ensure that all internal policies regarding such administration and documentation are adhered to. Assist with scheduling appointments and obtaining medical documentation prior to the clients appointments. Function as the liaison between external medical health care providers schools other community organizations and the facility with regards to the clients medical general nursing care to clients within the scope of LPN practice which include but are not limited to;Take and record clients vital prescribed/specified mediation and note time and amount on clients clients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment to and specimen preparation to be sent to the laboratoryInventory and requisite supplies. Respond to medical emergencies immediately upon notification. Perform whatever triage is necessary to stabilize the client and provide access to all necessary medical treatment within an LPNs scope of practice. Follow up to ensure complete recovery. Perform all necessary charting and other patient documentation as required by internal practice and external regulatory all other tasks within the scope of an LPN NYS license requested by the RN and or Nursing COMPETENCIESTranslate research and other forms of knowledge to improve practice processes and outcomesCommunicate practice knowledge effectively both orally and in writingparticipate in agency quality improvement projects to ensure best client outcomesCreate a climate of patient-centered care to include confidentiality privacy comfort emotional support mutual trust and REQUIRED:Must hold an active LPN nursing New York State maintain active CPR certificationEXPERIENCE REQUIRED/LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:Excellent oral writing communication and organizational SKILLS REQUIRED:Excellent aural and written communication and collaboration skillsExcellent organizational skills and data management capabilitiesVISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information software computer graphic design programs applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL EFFORTAbility to walk sit stand and bend as necessary to assess and provide care to clients effectively in various be capable of responding swiftly to emergencies which may involve moving quickly to the scene performing CPR and utilizing appropriate emergency in lifting transferring and repositioning clients safely when needed ensuring the comfort and safety of both clients and the physical stamina to perform nursing duties throughout the shift including prolonged periods of standing and walking while remaining attentive to patient to navigate a variety of environments including tight spaces while maintaining a focus on patient care and safety.
