Location:Brooklyn NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts Mon-Fri between 8:00am-5:00pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH)

• Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs patient demographics medication reconciliation allergies and medical diagnoses.

• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record.

• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff.

• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.

• Escort patients to exam rooms.

• Provide patient education concerning medications management of diseases home treatments and special diets.

• Assist physician with exams and/or procedures.

• Prepare and administer Injections.

• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.

• Perform point of care lab testing.

• Perform EKGs.

• Administer and document medication under a physicians order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error.

• Be cross-trained in infusion & intake.

• Current NYS LPN license required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

• IV Competency required.

• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients staff and other health care professionals.

• Experience with EMRs.

• Reliable transportation to any of NYH locations for patient care needs.

• Salary: Starting at$35/hr
