Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Ambulatory Wound Care, PRN, Days

Essential Functions

• Under the direction of the RN/Provider provides wound-related patient care according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and approved and hospital protocols Policies & Procedures.

• May assist with intake and discharge.

• May provide assistance with case management under the direction of RN in accordance with state regulations.

• Gathers patient information.

• Gathers necessary equipment and supplies for the RN or provider.

• Reports quality of care issues to Clinical Nurse Manager.

• Communicates as needed with all team members regarding therapeutic interventions to ensure quality of care.

• Performs hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties as needed after completing the required hyperbaric training.

• May perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing the required hyperbaric safety director training.

• May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe).

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor manager director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Completion of an LPN program recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.

• Experience - No previous experience required. Wound Care experience preferred.

In Lieu Of

• In lieu of completion of a LPN program will accept program equivalency recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.

Required Certifications Registrations Licenses

• Licensed to practice as an LPN in South Carolina.

• If an LPN team member working in this position obtains RN licensure Prisma Health will accept RN licensure for a limited time until the team member can be placed in an RN position. Team members should immediately notify their manager and Talent Acquisition if they are scheduled to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam or have obtained RN licensure.
