Job Summary


Position Overview:

The Licensed Mental Health Practitionerdelivers direct behavioral health services within a federally contracted ICE short-term residential facility in Alexandria provider supports stabilization crisis response and emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed culturally responsive approaches.

Thisroleoperatesinafast-paced high-acuity environmentrequiring flexibility strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support individuals from diverse backgrounds.

This is afully on-site position based in Alexandria Louisiana with preference for candidateslocatednearby.


Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Clinical Services

  • Conduct behavioral health screenings assessments and clinical evaluations
  • Provide brief counseling stabilization crisis intervention and supportive therapeutic services
  • Identify and respond to acute stress reactions trauma-related symptoms behavioral concerns and mental health crises
  • Development recommendations for treatment referral and follow-up care as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional organizational and regulatory requirements.

Crisis Intervention & De-escalation

Respond to behavioral incidents using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.

Support individuals in distress using calm non-coercive interventions.

Collaborate with clinical or supervisory staff when escalation referral or additional support is needed.

Trauma-Informed & Culturally Responsive Care

  • Deliver services that prioritize safety dignity and empowerment.
  • Adapt interactions to the developmental and situational needs of individuals served.
  • Provide care that is respectful of language culture and personal experience.
  • Support communication and orientation efforts in an individuals preferred language when possible.

Coordination & Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with medical providers case management staff and other multidisciplinary team members to support continuity of care.
  • Participate in shift briefings case discussions and incident reviews.
  • Support referrals and continuity of care as appropriate.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain timely accurate and complete clinical documentation.
  • Comply with all confidentiality reporting ethical and professional practice requirements.
  • Support compliance with applicable program standards and policies.


Required Qualifications & Core Competencies:

  • Masters degree in counseling Social Work Psychology or a related field
  • Oneof the followingtherapistcredentials: LPC LCSW LMFT or LMSW
  • Minimum2 years experience in behavioral health or social services
  • Experience working diverse populations of all ages.
  • Strong skills incrisis interventionde-escalationinterpersonal communication
  • Ability to function effectively in rapid high-pressure environments

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingualproficiencyin Spanish or another commonly encountered language
  • Experience inemergency shelter or residential settingsshort-term or high-turnover care environments
  • Training ordemonstratedexperience in trauma-informed care;motivational interviewing
  • Familiarity with working in multidisciplinary care teams

Conditions of Employment:

  • Employees must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident

    • Federal background investigation (up to and including a Tier 4 DHS clearance)

  • Employees must adhere to all federal security confidentiality and operational protocols while working within government facilities.
  • Must be able to speak read and write in English
  • Anovaeon operates 24 hours/365 days and requires the flexibility to work additional hours nights weekends and holidays
  • Must show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Internal background check to the satisfaction of contract requirements.
  • If applicable Child Abuse/ Neglect Report (CAN) or child protective services check with no adverse findings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during facility operations (up to 812 hours per shift).
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the facility
  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods while completing documentation and screenings.
  • Ability to lift carry and move supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend stoop reach and perform repetitive motions.
  • Capability to work in varied environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor temperature variations).
  • Visual acuity for reading medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Auditory ability tomonitorthe clinical environment communicate with patients and staff and detect signs of distress.

Work Environment:

  • Fully on-site position at a federally contracted short-term residential ICE facility in Alexandria LA
  • Work schedules may include shifts overnight evenings weekends and holidays.
  • Fast-paced high-tempo operational environment requiring composure attention to detail cultural sensitivity and professionalism at all times.
