Licensed District-Wide Daily Substitute, Full Benefits

Durango School District 9-R is recruiting Licensed Substitute Teachers who wish to substitute exclusively withDurango School District 9-R in the2026/2027 school year.

This position pays $250 per day and includes a full insurance package for health and dental insurance!

Requirements for this position include:

• Valid Colorado teaching License Colorado three to five year substitue license or a Colorado substitute license and a letter from a university indicating that student teaching has been completed and the date when the individual will be eligible to apply for their Colorado teaching license.
• Candidate may be in process with their license at the time of application.
• Ability to secure transportation to all school sites within Durango School District.
• Must be available to work the student contact days for the 26/27 school year Monday - Friday.
• Experience working with children.
• Experience working in classrooms as a contracted teacher or student teacher preferred.
• Ability to effectively engage students in lessons left by the classroom teacher.
• Ability to implement positive behavior supports within the classroom and create a highly productive learning environment
• Willingness to substitute in any classroom grades PK-12 and all special programs.
• Ability to uphold and adhere to school and district policies as well as state regulations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Compensation $250 per 8-hour daily assignment
