Based in any U.S. office the Legal Technology & Artificial Intelligence Attorney will be responsible for supporting the firms Legal Technology and AI initiatives by working closely with litigation practice groups to design implement and optimize technology-enabled workflows. This role focuses on evaluating configuring and deploying artificial intelligence and legal technology tools that enhance litigation strategy document analysis legal research case preparation and knowledge development.
The attorney collaborates with litigators Information Technology Knowledge Management and other internal stakeholders to translate litigation practice needs into scalable technology solutions that improve efficiency insight and client service.
This role reports to the Senior Director & Counsel of Knowledge & AI.
Responsibilities include:
- Partner with litigation practice groups to identify opportunities to improve litigation workflows through the use of AI and legal technology.
- Design and implement technology-enabled workflows related to legal research motion practice deposition preparation case strategy and trial preparation.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging legal technology and artificial intelligence solutions relevant to litigation including tools for document analysis legal research case analytics and generative AI-assisted drafting.
- Develop test and refine prompts and prompt frameworks for generative AI systems to support litigation workflows such as research summarization drafting and issue analysis.
- Configure and test AI-powered platforms and litigation technology tools to ensure they meet the needs of attorneys and support high-quality legal work.
- Collaborate with litigation teams to develop standardized approaches for AI-assisted research drafting document analysis and litigation preparation.
- Work with IT Information Security and Knowledge Management teams to ensure that litigation technology tools integrate effectively with the firms systems and comply with firm policies.
- Assist in the development of governance frameworks and best practices for responsible AI use in litigation matters including prompt management and quality control procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to litigators and professional staff on the effective use of legal technology and AI tools.
- Develop internal documentation playbooks and best practices related to litigation technology workflows AI-assisted litigation processes and prompt engineering techniques.
- Monitor developments in litigation technology and generative AI to identify opportunities to improve litigation strategy and efficiency.
- Support cross-practice innovation initiatives involving litigation technology analytics and AI-enabled case preparation.
- Participate in vendor evaluations product demonstrations and pilot programs for new litigation technology platforms.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 35 years of litigation experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience with litigation workflows including legal research motion practice deposition preparation and case strategy.
- Demonstrated interest in legal technology innovation or artificial intelligence applications in litigation practice.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools and prompt engineering concepts including developing prompts to support research drafting and analysis tasks.
- Familiarity with legal research platforms document management systems and drafting workflows used in litigation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate litigation processes into technology-enabled solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys technologists and business professionals.
- Experience managing projects or technology implementations in a legal or professional services environment is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Experience:
- Experience evaluating or implementing generative AI tools for drafting summarization and document analysis.
- Experience developing prompt libraries structured prompting workflows or AI-enabled templates for legal tasks.
- Familiarity with litigation analytics tools and AI-assisted legal research platforms.
- Experience developing internal training programs or adoption strategies for new technologies.
- Basic familiarity with technology integrations APIs or workflow automation tools used in legal environments.
- Interest in emerging developments in artificial intelligence legal technology and data-driven litigation strategy.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $250000 - $300000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
