The Legal Operations & Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Legal and Compliance Department at Mondelēz International. Reporting to the Sr. Director Global Legal Operations lead this role collaborates closely with legal staff outside counsel vendors and cross-functional teams to optimize legal operations across 165 countries. The primary focus is on managing legal financial operations and outside counsel management globally with a strong emphasis on financial reporting data analysis reporting automation AI-driven process improvement and system management.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Process and analyze key billing and matter data sets to perform comparative analytics and identify trends across functional activities.

• Recommend and implement process improvements including automation and AI tools to ensure efficiencies in legal spending.

• Develop a deep understanding of MDLZs TeamConnect matter management database reporting capabilities focusing on metrics related to legal spending.

• Design and maintain outside counsel reports dashboards KPIs and analytics for financial legal reporting using tools such as Excel and Power BI.

• Support regularly scheduled monthly quarterly and annual reporting requirements.

• Assist with internal forecasts financial planning and identification of potential budget risks to ensure the department meets strategic financial targets.

Invoice Processing

• Process outside counsel legal invoices across multiple countries through TeamConnect ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines.

• Respond to law firm and vendor queries regarding invoices and payments acting as the primary contact for invoicing issues.

• Manage vendors for electronic billing through TeamConnects Collaborati e-billing platform.

• Monitor resolve issues and coordinate revisions or adjustments and audit invoices to ensure timely processing and adherence to Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines.

• Manage the accrual process reconciliation and communication with law firms.

Outside Counsel and Vendor Management

• Act as the primary contact for all matter management issues with internal stakeholders law firms and vendors.

• Partner with MDLZs legal team to select and evaluate outside counsel negotiate pricing and assess legal vendors to ensure quality of service and maximize value.

• Oversee timekeeper management including new timekeeper requests and approvals.

• Drive the strategy for using analytics AI and business intelligence to assess outside counsel performance and spend.

• Manage the RFP process and oversee the annual outside counsel rate increase request process.

• Administer and optimize MDLZs Matter Management system (TeamConnect) including law firm and vendor onboarding to MDLZs electronic billing

• Ensure integration development and continuous improvement of the Global Enterprise Matter Management and electronic billing systems.

• Ensure compliance with global financial and budgeting requirements.

Strategic Initiatives

• Combine strategic perspective problem-solving skills and disciplined implementation to optimize the Legal Operations function.

• Evaluate and implement AI and automation solutions to streamline legal operations workflows including document review spend analysis and predictive analytics.

• Gather and act on input from stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance Legals operational and administrative processes.

• Coordinate and maintain the departments Global Outside Counsel Management strategy processes and tools.

• Stay current on legal operations industry trends technology advancements and best practices to inform continuous improvement.

• Bachelors degree in Fiinance Accounting Business Administration or related field.

• 46 years of experience in legal operations financial analysis or a related function within a corporate legal department or law firm.

• Advanced Excel skills (formulas pivot charts pivot tables macros data modeling).

• Understanding of accounting principles and legal billing guidelines (e.g. UTBMS/LEDES codes).

• Experience building and maintaining financial dashboards using Power BI Tableau or similar tools.

• Excellent analytical project management problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be a team player who can easily handle shifting priorities multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented and collaborative environment.

• Experience with e-billing and matter management systems (TeamConnect Collaborati or similar platforms).

• Familiarity with AI tools and automation platforms applicable to legal operations (e.g. spend management AI).

• Knowledge of legal industry billing guidelines and outside counsel management best practices.

• Strong project management experience.

• Excellent analytical skills and comfort working with multiple data sets with the ability to draw conclusions and make informed recommendations.

• Ability to present complex information in an accurate and persuasive manner to all levels of management.

• Process optimization and continuous improvement mindset.

• Technology adoption automation and change management.

• Attention to detail with ability to see the big picture.

The base salary range for this position is $97300 to $133815; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience skills education and addition to base salary this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
