We are an in-office company and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. We are looking for an experienced tech transactions attorney to join our legal team. This is a uniquely strategic role with a mix of both internal and external-facing responsibilities in an area of increasing importance and growth for Applied short this role will make an impact. You will support Sales Product and Engineering. You will also have opportunities to expand your role as part of a small legal team in a high growth start up.

Our ideal candidate is a business-minded lawyer who is focused on execution prepared to lead on important deals and comfortable making thoughtful and creative decisions. The role will require a high degree of self-sufficiency but also someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team dedicated to providing top legal service to our internal clients. You must be willing to roll up your sleeves and be comfortable working in ambiguity.

• Lead the drafting structuring and negotiating of complex commercial contracts with a diverse range of customers and partners from automotive OEMs Autonomous Vehicle (AV) startups and other players in the AV ecosystem

• Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team on legal matters critical to the growth of the business

• Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders (e.g. SalesFinance Product Engineering etc.) to lead key initiatives

• Support or activities related to IP Product and Compliance as needed

• Create forms playbooks and training to improve consistency execution speed risk mitigation and scalability

• Develop and implement scalable and sustainable legal operations processes programs and tools to support the legal teams efficient delivery of services to the broader company

• Proactively manage other duties that may arise as part of a small legal team in a high growth start-up

• Experience structuring drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements including software licenses strategic partnerships and joint development agreements

• Experience negotiating and drafting IP and material contracts representations in stock purchase merger and asset purchase agreements in financings

• Demeanor to thrive in a fast-paced sales focused environment requiring exceptional organizational skills juggling priorities and adhering to strict deadlines

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar.

• 5 years of experience with the activities described above.

• Ability to travel (up to 20%)

• Experience with some combination of law firm and in-house work.

• Computer science or engineering degree.

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary equity and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units comprehensive health dental vision life and disability insurance coverage 401k retirement benefits with employer match learning and wellness stipends and paid time off. Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience credentials & certifications educational attainment skill level requirements interview performance and the level and scope of the position.
