Lecturer in Health Sciences

Position Summary
The Department of Health Sciences in the School of Education and Health Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Health Science beginning in Fall 2027. This is a 9.5-month full-time faculty appointment with a 24-credit annual teaching load. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Health Science curriculum. Teaching assignments will be based on departmental needs as well as the candidates qualifications and interests and may include courses such as: Introduction to Health Sciences Community Health Epidemiology in the Health Sciences Evidence-Based Practice in Health Sciences Research Methods in the Health Sciences Cultural Competency and Health Literacy Health Systems and Informatics Leadership in Healthcare In addition to teaching the successful candidate will serve as a core faculty member within the Health Science program. Responsibilities include advising and mentoring undergraduate students recruiting and engaging prospective students participating in departmental and institutional service collaborating with faculty on program initiatives and supporting the continued growth and success of the Health Science program. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching student mentorship and collaborative engagement within an academic community. Qualifications A doctoral or terminal degree in Health Science or a closely related discipline is preferred; however ABD candidates and applicants with a masters degree in Health Science or a related field and demonstrated success teaching at the college level are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching effective student mentoring and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Salary Range: The budgeted salary range for this position is: $55000 $60000.
