The Opportunity

The Faculty of Arts is seeking a Lecturer in Criminology to join the School of Social Sciences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality teaching and learning while advancing scholarly research and professional activities within the discipline. The successful candidate will develop and deliver engaging subject material coordinate subjects prepare and present lectures and seminars conduct tutorials and workshops and provide academic support and guidance to students across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

In addition to teaching responsibilities the Lecturer will undertake research activities supervise honours and postgraduate research projects contribute to curriculum development and assessment and engage in professional activities relevant to the field of criminology. The role also involves consultation with students participation in school and faculty committees and meetings and the performance of administrative duties that support the delivery of academic programs and the broader objectives of the School.

As the successful candidate you will hold a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrate equivalent accreditation and standing. You will bring strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across education and service environments and will be able to build effective relationships with students colleagues and external partners.

You will demonstrate a strong record of tertiary teaching experience and the ability to motivate engage and educate diverse audiences. You will also bring experience in curriculum and subject development alongside strong statistical analysis and manuscript preparation skills supported by a track record of refereed research publications. A commitment to scholarly activity collegial practice and contributing positively within a team environment will be essential.
