The Department of Biological Sciences at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026to teach BIOL 215: Experimental Design and Statistical Analysis.

Course Description:

Design and analysis of biological surveys and experiments. Includes hypothesis formation experimental design statistical analysis presentation of results and hands-on experience in design and analysis of biological experiments.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A masters degree or equivalent professional experience in Biological Sciences or related fields
  • Per the California State Universitys Out-of-State Employment Policy the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A doctorate or equivalent in Biological Sciences and related fields
  • Experience teaching similar courses in 4-year universities
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and as applicable service.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience:

  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5507 - $6008 per full-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges (eff 7/1/24):

  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5507 - $6677 per full-time month
  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $6221 - $13224 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range commensurate with education and experience.
