Position Summary:

An Upholstery Cutter is responsible for manually cutting the pieces of fabric using scissors or a cutting knife (or both). The Cutter cuts the fabric using a pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to read production tickets and any special instructions

• Utilize tools such as scissors electric cutting knife hand-held knife chalk ruler

• Cut fabric from roll according to specifications

• Must lay out pattern pieces properly and cut fabric exactly so that all points match

• Must use fabric efficiently to minimize as little waste as possible

• Ability to work at a productive pace with no errors

• Understanding of fabric layout-COM Center cut flow match plain cover

• Ability to adjust patterns as needed for custom pieces that may differ from standard

• Must be knowledgeable in upholstery methods and be able to complete quality specifications.

• This position requires manual dexterity fine motor skills and attention to detail to meet high quality standards.

• Must be able to stand walk stoop and bend for 8 hours or more daily.

• Requires lifting 0-25 lbs continuously 25-50 lbs occasionally

Experience/Certifications/Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience with upholstery or furniture manufacturing

Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills:

• Must be able to work thoughtfully and thoroughly with continuous attention to detail

• Ability to stand walk stoop and bend for eight hours or more daily

• Ability to learn quickly and retain a wide range of small details concerning multiple product types tasks system processes issues and/or projects

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Comfortable multi-tasking or pivoting between tasks as the need arises

• Willingness to learn new products procedures and processes as business needs change

• A friendly attitude with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and be a team player and stay self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
