Job Summary
SummaryBalfour Beatty is seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist to join our benefits team in Dallas TX. The Leave of Absence Specialist will partner with employees managers and HR to coordinate the employee leave life cycle across all three of Balfour Beattys United States business units. This is a hybrid position that requires working three days per week in the office and two days per week from FunctionsLeave of Absence Administration: Coordinate the full-cycle process of LOA (FMLA STD PPL LTD Statutory) 95%ComplianceEnsure employees are made aware of their rights any Balfour policies as well as any statutory plans they may be entitled toCreate and maintain employee LOA filesEmployee SupportProvide and explain information to employees and help them with the process of leave management under Balfours policies and proceduresMaintain communications with employee during the LOA timeframePolicy ManagementPrepare a weekly spreadsheet for payroll for all LOA employeesParticipate and engage in vendor calls to discuss LOA cases and any to Work CoordinationCoordinate return to work process for employees including ensuring that a RTW note is receivedNotify manager HR and payroll that employee is returningIf employee has any restrictions coordinate providing that information to manager and HR to Benefit-Related Duties 5%Attend to general benefit inquiry emails when other team members are outAnswer department voice mail messages that are leave relatedAssist department and employees before during and immediately after annual open enrolment (to include testing of benefit portal proofreading updated guides and communications educating employees on benefit choices and enrolment process)Minimum Requirements2-5 years of direct experience in leave management and benefitsWorking knowledge of leave laws related to FMLA and other disability insurance working for a company with 7000 employeesPreferred RequirementsPHR or SHRM-CPAssociates degree in human resources business or related fieldSoft SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPatience and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentDetail oriented as it related to documentation and following standard operating procedure/ legal complianceEmpathetic and supportiveWork ConditionsHybrid role (three days per week in the office and two days per week remote) involving a desk setting and a high volume of time spent on the phone and/or on Microsoft Teams talking to job description does not list all the responsibilities of the job.
