Learning Zone Lead Teacher

Job Summary
General Purpose of Job:
Assist Learning Zone Director in preparation implementation interaction and supervision of children. Assist so that program runs smoothly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Assist the director in developing and implementing dynamic and engaging lesson plans and activities for youth under your direction
- Actively supervise and interact with children at all times
- Facilitate the transportation of children from school and field trips including the ability to drive a mini-bus and/or van
- Assist with daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms and other spaces used by children
- Help prep spaces activities meals/snack etc.
- Monitor and discipline children behavior as needed
- Actively monitor outdoor play and activities
- Help tutor children in extra learning activities as well as help in completion of homework
- Assist the director in planning and implementing tutoring SLPs (student learning plans)
- Provide children with positive reinforcement and role modeling
- Attend required in-service training as well as required trainings to meet state standards
- Assist with assessments and evaluations of children
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring attendance records
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring snack records and supplies
- Communicate well with parents coworkers and supervisor
- Other duties deemed necessary for the proper operation of the Learning Zone by the Learning Zone Director
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
2nd in command next to Learning Zone Director. When the director is not on premises or available supervisory actions and decisions come next to the Lead Teacher. This includes co-worker overseeing and child monitoring.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma
- Prior tutoring/classroom experience preferred
- Bilingual knowledge a plus
SPECIAL SKILLS CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS.
- A clean current drivers license a must
- Background check required
- Trainings as needed for program (CPT Communicable Disease First Aid Child Abuse KeepSafe food handling trainings etc.)
