Lean Manufacturing Intern Summer 2027

Key Responsibilities
As a Lean Intern you will:
Conduct Time Studies: Observe and record cycle times for various operations to establish baseline data.
Document Standard Work: Create and maintain Standard Work Charts and Standard Work Combination Tables for multiple production lines.
Support Kaizen Events: Actively participate in at least one kaizen team contributing to problem-solving and improvement initiatives.
Identify and Implement Improvements: Analyze assigned areas for waste and inefficiencies propose solutions and assist in implementation.
Lead and Support Problem Solving: Facilitate and contribute to structured problem-solving efforts using Problem Solving Process (PSP) and A3 methodologies ensuring root causes are identified and countermeasures are effectively implemented.
Visual Management: Develop and update visual controls and performance boards to support daily management systems.
Engage with Operators: Collaborate with frontline team members to validate standard work and ensure sustainability of improvements.
Support 5S Initiatives: Assist in organizing workspaces and maintaining cleanliness and order through 5S audits and
improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Operations Management or related field.
Minimum 3.0 GPA

At least Sophomore standing at the time of application
Must be returning to school at the conclusion of the internship
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Lean tools such as 5S Standard Work Value Stream Mapping and PDCA.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and data visualization tools.
