Job Summary
Gateway Pediatric Therapy
The Lead Trainer position is responsible for delivering high-quality training to new and current behavior technicians to ensure competency in applied behavior analysis (ABA) practices. This role combines instructional delivery hands-on coaching and performance evaluation while also supporting day-to-day clinic operations. The Lead Trainer ensures staff are equipped with the skills necessary to provide ethical effective and evidence-based services to our clients. This position is 40 hours per week in person. Regular working hours include 8am-5pm with a 1-hour break (times may vary slightly).
Training & Instruction Deliver engaging structured training sessions (in-person and/or virtual) on ABA principles procedures and company protocols Present training material clearly using a variety of teaching strategies (e.g. lecture modeling role-play and feedback) Adapt training methods to meet the needs of diverse learners Develop and provide original clinically relevant examples to support learner understanding |
Performance Competency & Evaluation Conduct competency assessments for behavior technicians using established checklists and performance criteria Provide immediate behavior-specific feedback using Behavioral Skills Training (BST) methods (instruction modeling rehearsal feedback) Track and document trainee progress ensuring completion of required competencies Collaborate with clinical supervisors to address skill deficits and training needs of all trainees and staff |
Coaching & Support Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees and staff while communicating ongoing trainee performance to supervisors Assist staff in generalizing learned skills to real client interactions Identify performance gaps and perform targeted training |
Administrative & Technical Skills Utilize Microsoft platforms (e.g. Excel PowerPoint Word Teams) to: Create training materials and presentations Track training progress and competency data Communicate with team members Maintain accurate and organized training records in accordance with company and regulatory standards Familiar with using data collection system and corresponding technology (e.g. Gateway tablet Rethink system UKG system) |
Clinic Support Assist with day-to-day clinic operations as needed (e.g. supporting sessions covering staff preparing materials assisting with client needs) Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth workflow Flexibility to travel to nearby clinic locations to provide additional support or cover for other lead trainers |
- High school diploma required
- Bachelors degree in Psychology Education ABA or related field preferred
- Experience providing ABA services (1 year preferred) and training staff
- RBT certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles and teaching strategies
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to work well on a team
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal and coaching abilities
- Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback in a timely and professional manner
